Next, thieves hit a Lacey development, absconding with appliances. I smell microwaved pizza afar off.
Last, Elma cops tried to sting a meth-head in the Everybodys parking lot. (Everyone from Elma knows exactly how appropriate that is.)
Once the purchase was complete, the suspect and a second man did not surrender and instead acclerated their vehicle towards the detectives, who then fired three rounds to stop the car, he said.I smell cat urine afar off.
No one was hurt. The passenger was arrested, but the driver escaped.

I think that there is a deal cooking about that building....the state will offer the 1/2 million rent in payoff and include an offer to buy it at market value. They are already making noises about damage and high repair costs so there might also be a hidden threat to condemn/devalue the thing.
I think we're limiting ourselves by looking only at the big green piece of building. The other two buildings between Old Greenie and the former KFC are also interesting examples of buildings that shouldn't have been built. The first is just non-descript, the second is, last time I checked, also vacant and has been for awhile.
That area is ripe for a rebirth, Oly style. I can envision an extension of the park and maybe a neat walking mall with shops and ooh yeah, a library.
Nice to know the government can use its super-secret power of Eminent Domain to void a legal contract. Let's hope that power never falls into the wrong hands.
Oh, wait, too late....
Doesn't the whole design plan for that area totally raze all three of those buildings already? I remember seeing a 3-D model of the state/city plans about ten years ago...they'll get what they want either way.
